Things not working without JavaScript

  • any materialize text input field and select
  • materialize side menu
  • search autocomplete
  • language select
  • dashboard
  • select fields (e.g. in preferences)
  • language select in timetable in chronos
  • selecting weeks/groups/teachers in alsijil
  • tabs in alsijil week view
  • mobile design in alsijil week view (collapsibles)
  • tabs in lesson documentation
  • selects and datepickers in absence creation
  • rebus form select in general
  • faq collabsibles
  • to add more…

Therefore, I would suggest reconsidering if we should support non JS using users…

Reconsidered: Yes, we should. Besides adhering to the sane software manifesto and reasonable principles and security pracitces, targeting schools and public offices' workstations, AlekSIS is required to work without JavaScript. For all we know, we can either make it work without JavaScript, or discontinue the project.

@hansegucker and I decided that we do not want to play along the game of sticking to early 20th century decisions of the public sector. Security is enforced by keeping dependencies as minimal as possible and only delivering locally.

We do not need to support non-JS clients.
