In our school, every morning presence of all students is checked. After that, everyone moves around with little chance for others to know, where a person currently is.

When I start my lesson, some children I'd expect to be there, did not come. I could go and look for them, but maybe they just decided to go to another lesson, which is perfectly fine. However, it could also be, that they lay around somewhere, injured, and nobody knows.

We want to keep the freedom for the children, but also have to make sure to have a certain overview, also for our mentoring conversations, to talk about presence and absences.

My idea: Self check-in. Every student gets an NFC chip and can check in to lessons, but also to chill rooms.
